To inhibit vascular smooth muscle cell proliferation there is administered to a human a 3,4-diphenyl-chroman cpd. of formula (I) or one of its salts. R = 1-6C alkyl, 1-6C alkoxy, halogen or CF3; R1, R2 = 1-6C alkyl; n = 2-6; R3, R4 = 1-4C alkyl; or -NR3R4 = pyrrolidino, morpholino, piperidino, piperazino, 4-(1-6 alkyl)-piperazino or 4-phenylpiperazino.
