A vehicular headlamp 10 comprising a lamp body 12, a front lens 14, a reflector 24, a discharge bulb 26 mounted on the reflector, a lighting circuit 34 for igniting the discharge bulb mounted on the outer surface of the bottom wall 12e of the lamp body and a bulb replacement opening 12d in the rear wall 12c of the lamp body. The invention lies in providing additional rigidity to the lamp body for mounting the lighting circuit by extending the bottom wall to the rear of the bulb replacement opening. This extension 12f can be flat or folded-back, can be formed in an arc along part of the circumference of the replacement opening and can be augmented by reinforcement ribs.
