COOLING DEVICE OF LIQUID COOLED INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To promote a warming-up with preventing an engine from thermal damage. SOLUTION: Before the completion of warming-up, the cooling water is circulated between a bypass passage 30 and the engine 10 at a very small flow rate of 1 to 5 L/min without circulating the cooling water into an oil cooler 90 and after the completion of warming-up, the cooling water is passed into the oil cooler 90 with controlling the water temperature of the engine to hold between 95 deg.C and 110 deg.C. This enables to prevent the cooling water in the engine 10 from local boiling with preventing the engine 10 from local thermal deformation and promote the warming-up with preventing the heat of the engine 10 from absorbed in ATF via the cooling water. After the completion of warming-up, fuel efficiency can be improved by reducing the friction loss of the engine oil.
