<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a burner which regenerates a filter by burning soot that is generated by incomplete combustion of a hydrocarbon fuel during starting period and deteriorates the constituent part such as a catalyst and gives an adverse effect to the operation of the system. <P>SOLUTION: A burner for starting which is provided at the front stage of a fuel reformer and has a filter for collecting soot generated at combustion is provided and, during the starting period, regenerates the filter by burning the collected soot by a lean mixture gas, while heating continuously the rear stage constituent part. A differential pressure gauge for detecting the amount of soot accumulated is provided at the filter, and judges the amount of the soot based on the operation history of the burner. The control part maintains the ratio of excessive air between 1.5-2.8 and estimates the exhaust gas temperature of the filter based on the accumulated amount of the soot in the filter, and makes a control so as to lower the temperature of the exhaust combustion gas. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
