<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect an indicated position, and to prevent visibility from being deteriorated, and to simplify the configuration of a display panel. <P>SOLUTION: A magnetic field detecting part is installed at the top end of a position indicator 6, and an indicated position indicated by a user is set as the detection position of the strength of a magnetic field by the magnetic field detection part so that the indicated position can be detected. Also, a voltage for position detection is applied to a remote control electrode driving circuit 8 and a segment electrode driving circuit 9 for rewriting the display information of a cholesteric liquid crystal layer. Also, the magnetic field detection part for detecting the strength of the magnetic field due to the voltage or a voltage peak detecting part for detecting the position based on the strength of the magnetic field and a time measuring part (position indicator 6) are installed differently from a cholesteric liquid crystal panel 7 so that it is possible to prevent visibility from being deteriorated, and to simplify the configuration of the cholesteric liquid crystal panel 7. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
