An undercast padding for being placed on an injured limb before application of a cast includes a foam substrate having an array of spaced-apart, relatively large openings therethrough, and first and second film layers applied to opposite sides of the substrate. The layers each have an array of spaced-apart, relatively small openings therethrough, wherein some of the film layer openings reside in overlying registration with a respective substrate opening and some others of the film layer openings reside in overlying registration with the substrate.
