<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive color filter for a liquid crystal display wherein a first layered photo spacer and a second layered photo spacer having a low height are formed; and to provide an inexpensive manufacturing method thereof. <P>SOLUTION: In the color filter, the first layered photo spacer Ps-1 and the second layered photo spacer Ps-2 are simultaneously formed and the number of intermediate layers of the second layered photo spacer is made fewer than the number of intermediate layers P1 to P3 of the first layered photo spacer.
