Continuous process for functionalisation and sterilisation of flat food packaging elements by atmospheric plasma

The method involves leading to continuous atmospheric pressure using cold atmospheric plasma discharge with a dielectric barrier and/or a flat atmospheric microwave plasma source for functionalization and sterilization of flat food packaging elements. The elements are chosen from a group of substrates presenting in the form of sheet, film, woven and/or non-woven fibers and/or foam. The substrate is made of ceramic, glass, carton, composite material or polymer.
