PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microwave processing device capable of preventing the distribution of microwaves from being varied within an applicator, and a microwave introduction method.SOLUTION: A microwave processing device 1 comprises: an applicator 2 including a housing 20 including a side peripheral wall 200a which is cylindrical and in which an introduction port 200c is opened, and a microwave introduction chamber 21 which is defined within the housing 20 and communicated to the introduction port 200c; and a waveguide 3 for introducing microwaves M1 through the introduction port 200c into the microwave introduction chamber 21. When a direction orthogonal to an axial direction of the side peripheral wall 200a of the housing 20 is defined as a radial direction, a cross section of an inner peripheral surface 200b of the side peripheral wall 200a in the radial direction presents a polygonal shape formed from a plurality of sides L1-L5 of which the extension directions are different from one another. The microwaves M1 are introduced into the microwave introduction chamber 21 along the inner peripheral surface 200b.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
