The purpose of the present invention is to reduce or eliminate a user′s impatience or discomfort in waiting for a ready-on state after starting under the freezing point or in failing to obtain a desired output despite acceleration following ready-on. A fuel cell system is provided with required target output arrival time estimation means (300) and required target output arrival time notification means (160, 165). The required target output arrival time estimation means (300) estimates a required target output arrival time based on the water content in a fuel cell (40) and the temperature in the fuel cell (40) at a time of starting under the freezing point, the required target output arrival time being the length of time for the fuel cell (40) to become capable of exhibiting a scavenging output desired or expected by the fuel cell system user or exhibiting a predetermined output depending on the scavenging output after the starting under the freezing point. The required target output arrival time notification means (160, 165) notify the user of the required time estimated by the required target output arrival time estimation means (300). |
