The present invention relates to a method for controlling a clothing treatment apparatus, comprising: a first heating step of heating washing water stored in a tub by operating all of at least two heaters provided in the clothing treatment apparatus; a heating-finishing step of finishing the first heating step when the temperature of the washing water reaches a preset reference temperature; and a second heating step of alternately operating the heaters if the temperature of the washing water is lowered to below the reference temperature.
