PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sensor that has a lead wire protective member, achieving prevention of exposure of a lead wire and prevention of entry of water into the inside of the gas sensor.SOLUTION: In a gas sensor 1, a flange 89b of a lead wire protective member 89 is held between a distal-end-facing surface 19a of a reduced-diameter part 19g of an external cylinder 16 (in particular, an outer external cylinder 19) and a rear-end facing surface 99 of a closing member 7. That is to say, the lead wire protective member 89 is held between the external cylinder 16 and the closing member 7 by using a holding force in the axial direction. Such a holding structure using the holding force in the axial direction makes the external cylinder 16 and the lead wire protective member 89 hard to be deformed. Accordingly, a void is hard to be formed both between the external cylinder 16 and the lead wire protective member 89 and between the lead wire protective member 89 and the closing member 7. The gas sensor 1 with the structure having the lead wire protective member 89 achieves prevention of exposure of a lead wire 11 and prevention of entry of water into the inside of the gas sensor.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
