PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for projecting an arbitrary three-dimensional pattern with a simple configuration.SOLUTION: A pattern projection device 10 comprises a phase modulator 15 in which a plurality of modulation elements modulating phases of light are arrayed, and a projection optical system 16 for projecting a light pattern on the basis of the light modulated by the phase modulator 15. The pattern projection device 10 further comprises complex amplitude modulation pattern calculation means 12 and phase modulation amount setting means 13. The phase modulation amount setting means 13 decomposes the complex amplitude modulation pattern calculated by the complex amplitude modulation pattern calculation means 12 into linear combinations of a plurality of phase modulation patterns, groups the plurality of modulation elements into the same number of groups with the plurality of phase modulation patterns, and sets a phase modulation amount setting value which is set for each of the plurality of grouped modulation elements to a phase modulation amount based on a phase modulation pattern corresponding to the group that the modulation element belongs to.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
