The present invention relates to a method for controlling operation of a gas turbine (10) with sequential combustion. A gas turbine (10) comprises: a compressor (12) having a variable inlet guide vane (VIGV); a first combustor (13); a high-pressure turbine (14) positioned downstream of the first combustor (13); a second combustor (16) positioned in downstream of the high-pressure turbine (14); and a low-pressure turbine (17) positioned downstream of the second combustor (16). When at least one partial TAT1 measurement value is increased to be larger than a predetermined threshold value while base load operation, the average TAT1 temperature (TAT1 AVG) is controlled in order to prevent the gas turbine from exceeding a target NOx emission limit and prevent an increase in component stress. |
