摘要 The processor described herein operates to provide an output signal which varies as a function of the logarithm of the ratio of two input signals. In the processor, the charge on a capacitor is controlled to provide an exponential waveform which starts at a level proportional to one of the input signals. Preferably, the exponential is positive, i.e., regenerative rather than degenerative. A squarewave pulse is initiated simultaneously with the starting of the exponential waveform. When the exponential waveform reaches a level proportional to the other of the input signals, this squarewave pulse is terminated. By repetitively generating squarewave pulses in this manner, a pulse train output signal is obtained having an average amplitude or d.c. component which is proportional to the logarithm of the ratio between the two input signals.
