Moving coil meter with pole plate increasing field homogeneity - has unitary soft iron core in form of closed ring

A moving coil meter device has a unitary soft iron core consisting of a closed ring carrying a two-part coil former on which the moving coil is wound. The soft iron core is connected to the soft iron keeper of a permanent magnet by means of a rectangular binder strap. The soft iron keeper may be ring-shaped or flat. A pole plate increases the homogeneity of the field. The closed soft iron core permits the deflection of the pointer through an angle of 270 deg. The coil and pointer are mounted on an axle in a support member. The support member may be attached by means of a screw to the soft iron yoke.
