METHOD AND DEVICE FOR CALIBRATING CAMERA

PURPOSE: A calibrating method of a camera and a device thereof are provided to improve accuracy by performing the adjustment regardless of operation limit, and to operate easily and conveniently with simplifying the operation. CONSTITUTION: A camera comprises a stand(10) on a head support(12) turning about a pan axis(14). A head turns about a tilt axis. A lens(20) carrying a focusing ring(22) and a zoom ring(24) is supported on the camera head. The tilt angle to the support is provided by a sensor(26), and the angle about the pan axis is supplied by a sensor. The first stage for calibrating the camera lens involves determining intrinsic characteristics of the lens system and generating a computer file containing characteristics. The second stage is performed in using the camera lens. The calibration of the package is performed to define transfer function between signals from sensors detecting the setting of the lens system and characteristics based on the file and on signals obtained by photographing characteristic points.
