摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain a hydrocarbon in high yield by bringing methanol and/or dimethyl ether at high temperatures into contact with a catalyst comprising alkali cation type crystalline alumino-silicate prepared through a special process. CONSTITUTION:The objective hydrocarbon can be obtained by bringing methanol and/or dimethyl ether into contact with an alkali cation type crystalline aluminosilicate as a catalyst at h igh temperatures under ambient-high pressures. Said catalyst is prepared as follows: an aqueous raw material mixture containing both silica and alumina sources and alkali metal salt, but free from organic additives is kept under hydrothermally synthetic condition of form an alkali cation type crystalline aluminosilicate-contg. solid matter. Using, as a nucleating agent. part of the resultant solid matter, another aqueous raw material mixture containing tye same components as the first mixture but differing in the ratio: SiO2/Al2O3 from that of the first mixture, (the ratio being 25-500) is kept under hydrothermally synthetic condition.
