The invention relates to an assembly system for the elements of a tubular structure, and particularly for its uprights and crosspieces. This system is characterised in that it comprises two clamping members 4a, 4b each of which includes on its face pointing towards the other a groove 6 facing the groove of the other clamping member when the system is mounted, at least one ball 5 whose dimensions are matched to the said grooves 6 and which includes means extending laterally between the said clamping members 4a, 4b to secure it to at least one element of the tubular structure, as well as means 13, 14 for locking the said ball or balls 5 in position in the said grooves 6.
