PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic door excellent in operation control characteristics, increasing in durability and permitting passerby safety to be enhanced by reducing the frequency of opening/closing of a door part in the case of many passersby. SOLUTION: The number or passage pattern of persons passing in and out through the automatic door is detected by the opening/closing operation of the door part 3, and the automatic door is operated at an optimum door-closing speed based on the detected number or passage pattern. For example, the control part 20 of a drive mechanism 4, provided with an opening/closing frequency counting part 22 for counting the number of the per-unit-time opening/closing operations of the door part 3 and a closing-speed commanding part 23 for setting the door-closing speed of the drive mechanism 4, allows the door-closing speed to be reduced to a prescribed speed when the discrete value of the counting part 22 exceeds a reference value. |
