Dialkoxymethylimidazolidine derivatives of the formula (1) <CHEM> wherein Z represents a 2-chloropyridin-5-yl group or a 2-chlorothiazol-5-yl group, R1 and R2, respectively, represent a lower alkyl group having from 1 to 6 carbon atoms, or a lower haloalkyl group having from 1 to 3 carbon atoms or a lower alkyl group having from 1 to 3 carbon atoms and substituted with a lower alkoxy group having from 1 to 3 carbon atoms, or R1 and R2are joined to form a cyclic alkylene group having from 2 to 3 carbon atoms, and n is a value of 2 or 3, are described.
