PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect abnormality during instillation and to perform a detailed detection and judgement of abnormality based on the speed of the drip-feed solution. SOLUTION: The medical fluid which drips according to the speed of the drip-feed solution in the tube 3a of the joint section 3 is detected one drip by one drip by the drip detection section 20. The monitoring device can detect the dripping speed, that is, the pace of dripping or number of drips within a prescribed time. And based on this speed of dripping and its variations it enables to perform a detailed abnormality detection and judgement which has not been able to perform in the past such as hypodermic leakage or pulling out of the syringe needle. The abnormality of the dripping speed can be detected without waiting the near completion time of the dripping, and its judgement can be made during dripping.
