In removing water contg. oil residues, where the water contg. the residues is taken up by an absorbent and the end prod. is burned, the absorbent is quicklime, mixed with quick-setting cement, so that a free-flowing, alkalised prod. is formed. Mixing with the cement may be in the region of the water surface, at the same time as absorption by the absorbent. The end prod. is used as heat-retaining absorbent in an environmentally friendly fuel. Pref. an absorbent for removing water contg. oil residues contains quicklime mixed with quick-setting cement. ADVANTAGE - The final prod. raises the environment friendliness of the usual combustion plant. Oil residues are removed completely when mixed with water, e.g. as a result of fire-extinguishing or rain. The end prod. can be used in a fuel, when harmful acid substances formed, e.g. HCl, HF or SO2 are chemically combined
