A memory device for a motion picture signal processor using a motion compensation reduces a quantity of a frame memory needed to a transmitting/receiving apparatus using a motion compensation. The memory device includes: a buffer memory means(62) for delaying a recording of a memory during a given time until escaping a motion compensation search area of another part after performing a motion compensation in a present frame; and addressing means for addressing the buffer memory means(62) and the memory(58).
