<p>A compound of formula (I), wherein B and D are each independently of the other C6-C24alkyl, (a) or (b), L is (c), (d), (e), (f) or C1-C37alkyl, R1 is C4-C18alkyl, R2 is hydrogen, C1-C4alkyl, C1-C4alkoxy, halogen, cyano or nitro, R3, R4 and R5 are each independently of one another hydrogen, OR6, SR6 SeR6, -NHR6, -NR6R7, (g), (h), (i), (j), (k), (l), (m) or (n), with the proviso that at least one of R3, R4 and R5 is not hydrogen, R6 is C7-C37alkyl, C7-C37alkylene or C5-C18alkyl which is interrupted by 1 to 6 hetero atoms selected from the group consisting of O, S and N, R7 is hydrogen or R9, R8 is hydrogen or C1-C4alkyl, and R9 is C1-C12alkyl, C2-C12alkylene or C3-C12 alkyl which is interrupted by 1 to 6 hetero atoms selected from the group consisting of O, S and N. The inventive compounds are distinguished by their liquid crystalline character.</p> |
