PURPOSE:To lighten a piston slap and reduce the noise of an internal combustion engine and the waste consumption of output by suppressing the tilt of a piston by fitting an elastic member, which slidingly contacts the inner wall of a cylinder, onto the skirt part of the piston. CONSTITUTION:As for a piston 6, a cut part 6a-1 directed towards a pin is opened to a skirt part 6a. Upper and lower ring grooves 6b and 6c in two stages are formed over the whole periphery on the outer periphery of the upper part, and a compression ring 16 for preventing gas leak and an oil ring 17 for adjusting oil film are fitted onto the ring grooves 6b, 6c. In this constitution, a ring groove 6d is also formed over the whole periphery onto the lower part outer periphery of the skirt part 6a, and is fitted with a compression ring 18 similarly to the above-described. When the piston 6 tilts in the vicinity of the top or bottom dead center, and a piston slap is generated, the tilt of the piston 6 is suppressed by the elastic deformation of the compression ring 18. |
