PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drum level measuring instrument for a boiler which can always accurately measure the drum level in the steam drum of the boiler, even when a phenomenon occurs in which the water level in a saturated water section drops and can prevent the boiler from running into tripping. SOLUTION: This drum level measuring instrument is constituted by erecting a cylindrical chamber 46, which is used for detecting drum level and has a vertical slit 45 having a required width in its side face in a gas-water mixture section 36 demarcated from the saturated water section 37 in the steam drum 1a, so that the head in the steam drum 1a is detected via the chamber 46.
