PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contents management system that can simply manage contents in which ID information is imbedded by various real electronic watermark methods. SOLUTION: A center 800 allows each provider 100 to serve contents that is open onto a network 200 together with its location information, detects meta information from the acquired contents by using a common meta watermark method, obtains a real watermark method by referring to a meta information database 500 on the basis of the meta information, detects ID information from the contents by using the real watermark method and stores the ID information and the location information in pairs to a log database 810. The method can retrieve the illegally distributed contents.
