PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent breakage and ignition of an integrated circuit when its temperature becomes abnormally high because an abnormal high voltage is applied to the power supply terminal or a reverse voltage is applied to the integrated circuit of the like. SOLUTION: The power interrupting device has a power supply interrupting element 3 disposed in a predetermined position of a semiconductor chip 1 disposed within a semiconductor package 4. The power supplied to the semiconductor chip 1 is interrupted by the interrupting element 3 when the semiconductor chip 1 becomes a specified temperature or higher. The interrupting element 3 can be disposed either on the surface or the inside of the semiconductor chip 1. |
