METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CUTTING BASE PART OF FLUORESCENT TUBE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for clearly and quickly cutting off the vicinity of the base part of a fluorescent tube.

SOLUTION: The vicinity of the base part 15a of the circular fluorescent tube 15 is cut by rotating the circular fluorescent tube 15 while holding the vicinity of the base part 15a of the circular fluorescent tube 15, and irradiating almost the whole circumference of the vicinity of the base part 15a of the circular fluorescent tube 15 with laser beam emitted from a laser apparatus 3 disposed outside the rotation track. A focus position of the laser beam is set at the center of an eccentric width of the cutting-off part caused by the rotation of the circular fluorescent tube 15.
