<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector 10 of a structure for mounting at the side face of a substrate 80, with due consideration to further reduction in the profile and the operability of a turning member 16. <P>SOLUTION: The connector, provided with a contact 14 of substantially an H shape, a fixing tool 18 for fixing it to each side of the substrate 80 in the length direction, and a ceiling part 20 covering a contact part 38 of the contact 14, has a prevention wall 22 formed at an end part of a fit-in hole 30 side of the ceiling part 20 for preventing the ceiling part 20 from lifting, when an object for connection is pried upward, an extended wall 24 each for holding the fixing tool 18 at each side in the length direction, a housing 12 provided with a slit 26 in between the extended wall 24 and a bearing part 28 of the turning member 16, equipped with an operating part 60, a pressing part 56, and a locking hole 58, mounted on the housing 12 so that the pressing part 56 makes a compact turn between the connecting part 48 of the contact 14 and a pressed bracket 40 in accordance with rotation of a rotating shaft 64.
