PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide portable equipment which receives a television broadcast signal and a radio wave sent from a position information transmitting station and is stored in a portable case, the portable equipment eliminating the need to search for a receivable channel at each time. SOLUTION: Disclosed is the portable equipment provided with an antenna 31 receiving a radio wave sent from a base station 80 and a position information reception section 32 interposed between the antenna 31 and a control section 41 and acquiring current position information on the portable equipment, and the control section 41 when deciding that the position information changes scans receivable channels by an electronic tuner 15 and stores the receivable channels in a memory 42. Consequently, each time the position information changes, channels which can be received there are scanned and the channels of receivable broadcasting stations are all stored in the memory, so information on the receivable channel is only acquired from the memory to watch television.
