DRIVE CONTROL METHOD OF IMAGING DEVICE AND IMAGING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive control method of an imaging device capable of extracting imaging image data in an optional region at a high speed and to provide an imaging apparatus.

SOLUTION: A timing signal generator 13 drives an inter line transfer CCD image sensor, the timing signal generator 13 being provided with: a parameter setting section 131 for setting a horizontal segmentation period; a horizontal transfer system signal generator 132 for generating a first horizontal transfer signal and a high speed second horizontal transfer signal; a changeover switch 133 for switching between the first and the second horizontal transfer signals; a horizontal synchronizing system signal generating section 134 for generating a first horizontal synchronizing signal corresponding to the first horizontal transfer signal and a second horizontal synchronizing signal corresponding to the second horizontal transfer signal; a horizontal synchronizing system signal changeover switch 135 for switching the first and the second horizontal synchronizing signals; and a vertical synchronizing signal system generating section 136 for counting the number of the horizontal synchronizing signals output via the switch 135 to produce a vertical synchronizing signal and a vertical blanking signal.
