PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve an economical problem caused by the use of conventional raw materials containing zirconia used for restraining sticking of alumina to refractory products used for continuous casting, and of low corrosion resistance caused by the use of fluoride therein. SOLUTION: The refractory used for continuous casting which is provided comprises, at least in its portion in contact with the molten steel, contains 0.5 to 15 mass % of barium fluoride, lithium and/or magnesium fluoride, and the remaining portion comprising graphite, and magnesia and/or spinel. It may contain graphite as much as 10-35 mass % and a mass ratio of magnesia to spinel is 70%:30%-30%:70%. |
