<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology that allows an air bag to be inflated and deployed quickly and to exhaust a large quantity of gas stably when the bag received an occupant after the completion of inflation and deployment. <P>SOLUTION: This device includes an exhaust state changeover member 30 installed at an opening 28h in an air bag body 20 with a state changeable between a non-exhausting state and an exhausting state, and a tether belt 40 through which part of the inside surface of the air bag body 20 is coupled with the changeover member 30. The tether belt is drawn in so that the changeover member 30 is introduced into the air bag body 20 in a state that the air bag body 20 is inflated and deployed into a regular shape. The tether belt 40 is loosed in a state that the air bag body 20 is inflated and deployed and deformed to be recessed upon receiving the occupant, and the changeover member 30 is put in the exhaust state. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
