A bidet and a bidet control method are provided to let an infant use a bidet easily in an automatic mode by detecting whether a user is an infant and to prevent an infant from pressing a button accidentally, thereby preventing the clothes from getting wet. A bidet comprises a bidet main body washing the private parts and including a washer washing the private parts, a dryer drying the private parts after washing and a button input unit(400) controlling the bidet, a sensor checking whether a user is an infant, and a controller receiving signals from the sensor and changing into an automatic mode if a user is an infant to cut off the button input unit not to send out signals to the control unit if the infant presses the button and thus to prevent unintended operation of the bidet. A bidet control method comprises the steps of: sensing whether a user is an infant by detecting the weight applied to a seat plate for an infant(600) or a seat plate for an adult(100); and controlling the operation of the bidet to cut off a button input unit and to clean and dry automatically if a user is an infant and to operate the bidet normally if not. |
