PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rolling slide member and a rolling device suitably usable even under such conditions that large contact stress acts thereon or no lubricant exists. SOLUTION: A thrust ball bearing is equipped with an inner ring 1, an outer ring 2 and a plurality of balls 3. Microprocessing for radiating a short pulse laser with a pulse width of 1-5 ps is applied to contact surfaces of the inner and outer rings 1, 2 and the ball 3, namely, rolling slide surfaces. A part of the rolling slide surface which is subjected to microprocessing is covered with a diamond-like carbon film D. The diamond-like carbon film D is composed of three layers of a metallic layer M composed of at least one kind of metals of Cr, W, Ti, Si, Ni and Fe, a composite layer F composed of metal and carbon, and a carbon layer C composed of carbon. The three layers are arranged in the order of the carbon layer C, the composite layer F and the metal layer M from the surface side of the diamond-like carbon film D. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
