PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital recording and reproducing device having a comparatively simple structure which can identify a memory card separately. SOLUTION: A digital recording and reproducing device 1 can be provided with a movable external memory M, records the record data Ds in the external memory M and makes reproduction based on the record data recorded in the external memory M. In addition, an identification data-generating element 4, which generates the identification data DID for identifying the external memory M separately; an internal memory 11, which can record the identification data DID; and a control unit 10, which records the identification data DID in the external memory M and in the internal memory 11, respectively, and carries out processing for judging the identity of the identification data DID recorded in both the memories 11 and M, when the attachment of the external memory M is detected; are provided. |
