LUBRICATING OIL ALARMING SYSTEM OF SHIP PROPULSION MACHINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable generation of an alarm and appropriate exchange of a lubricating oil, by detecting automatically mixture of water into an lubricating oil in a power transmission shaft system in a outboard propulsion machine. SOLUTION: A lubricating oil alarm system of outboard propulsion machine detects variation of an electrical characteristic caused by mixture of water into the lubricating oil and outputs an alarm signal in an outboard propulsion machine 3 for propelling a hull by transmitting power to a propeller 7 placed outboard under water surface through a power transmission shaft system 6 by means of motor 2. A sensor 52 with a protruded detection portion is placed to face a lubricating oil circuit 51 incorporating the power transmission shaft system 6 formed in a casing 5 supported to be steerable for a transom mounting portion 4 mounted on a hull transom portion 1, and a detecting circuit 53 is provided to compare a detected value of variation of an electrical characteristic due to mixture of water into the lubricating oil detected by the sensor 52 with a reference value to output an alarm signal.
