PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to demagnetize an article more reliably even if an external magnetic field temporarily acts on the article during adsorption of the article.SOLUTION: An electromagnetic adsorber 1 executes an excitation control such that a magnetic field is generated and an article 5 configured from a magnetic material is adsorbed by at least a part of the magnetic field, and a demagnetization control such that generation of the magnetic field is stopped and the article 5 is detached, for an electromagnet 22. In the excitation control, a direct current Idc is supplied to the electromagnet 22 thereby generating a magnetic field, and in the demagnetization control, an alternate attenuation current Iac, of which an amplitude is gradually decreased from an initial current value which exceeds a current value of the direct current Idc and becomes zero, is supplied to the electromagnet 22 thereby generating an alternate attenuation magnetic field in the electromagnet 22.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
