An apparatus and method for aligning a lens are provided. According to an embodiment of the present invention, an apparatus for aligning a lens comprises: a preprocessing unit obtaining a first image by binarizing the center image of an aligned image based on a first boundary value, and obtaining a second image by binarizing the center area of the aligned image based on a second boundary value; a calculating unit calculating a difference between coordinates of the first reference point and the second reference point by comparing a first reference point of the first image to a second reference point of the second image; and a control unit moving a lens provided in a lens module to reduce the calculated difference between the coordinates.
