The present invention relates to a tool used in a changing work of a rail on a railroad. According to the embodiment of the present invention, a tool for catching the bottom of a rail includes: a rail support unit inserted into a part of the railroad rail; a bar connection unit arranged on a straight line of the rail support unit and having a bar connection hole to an opposite side to the rail support unit; a bending hinge unit connecting the bar connection unit and the rail support unit in order for the rail support unit to be bent in the bar connection unit, by rotating in an opposite direction to a direction of lifting up the bar connection unit when the railroad rail is changed; a returning spring supporting the rail support unit in the bar connection unit by an elastic force in order for the rail support unit returns to an initial position while the rail support unit is bent in the bar connection unit; and a handlebar applying power by being connected to the bar connection hole. Therefore, the tool for catching the bottom of a rail can prevent an accident due to the tool when the railroad rail is changed.
