The atomiser has a pump cylinder (23) and a spring-loaded piston (24) manually operable by depressing a knob (31), an outlet valve (29) consisting of a closure member (28) on a piston rod (34) and the piston and an outlet duct (35) extending through the hollow piston. Axial movement of the piston and liquid pressure in the cylinder opens the valve (29). The piston has a resilient neck (27) surrounding the rod (34) which buckles outwards when compressed. The neck is sealingly secured (30) to the knob. The duct (35) is formed by a number of axial grooves in the rod.
