Collector for solar energy has >=1 passage for a heat transfer fluid. This consists of a passage formed between two parallel plates which are joined to each other at least around their edges. Along two edges there are input and output openings for the liq. Pref. at least the plate facing the sun is transparent, and is surface made wett to reduce reflection off it. in the flow direction, the plate passage can be divided into a series of parallel passages using spacers which also serve to separate the plates. Used for converting solar radiation into useful heat e.g. for hot water systems or swimming pools. Arrangement provides a collector fo cheap and simple construction requiring little material but without redn. in efficiency.
