PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor and processing method in which an original image can be displayed while being enlarged or contracted with a required enlarging or contraction rate through simple circuitry. SOLUTION: An output clock generating circuit 10 generates a clock signal CK and a read address generating circuit 200 comprises a clock signal CK counter and an operating circuit for calculating a read address Y depending on the count of the counter, an address indicative of the starting position of the part of an original image to be enlarged/contracted and an address indicative of the ending position thereof. The read address Y is outputted to an image memory 30 and since pixel data is read out from an address designated by the read address Y at the timing of the clock signal CK, an image where the part of the original image between the starting position and the ending position is enlarged or contracted can be obtained using the address generating circuit comprising the counter and the operating circuit. |
