<p>PURPOSE:To eliminate aural unnaturalness by continuing recording or reproducing operation by reversing a tape run direction at the point in time where a signal is discontinued within the range of fixed remaining tape length in a recording or reproduction mode. CONSTITUTION:A tape reproduced signal from magnetic head 1 is inputted to signalless-state detection circuit 2. A pulse signal outputted from detection head 4 is converted by frequency-voltage converter 5 into a voltage, equivalent to the frequency of the pulse signal and then applied to level display and remaining tape length meter 6. The output voltage across converter 5 is compared with reference voltage E0 corresponding to rotations of reel table 3 at the time when the preset terminal point of a magnetic tape is close and when the output voltage exceeds E0, decision circuit 7 makes a decision that the tape is within the range of the fixed remaining tape length and then outputs ''1''. Consequently, plunger driver circuit 9 is started to operate plunger 10 which operates a mechanism reversing the tape run direction.</p> |
