PURPOSE:To reduce the angular error of a recording and reproducing gap by forming a gap on the extension of the recording and reproducing gap and then by making a comparison between a reference line and a straight line across the whole gaps to fix a deviation distance within a fixed limit. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic head constituted by welding by fusing glass C-type core 4 to core block 5 with slider surfaces 6 and 7 and by forming gap 9 is provided similar cores 4a and 4b, in addition to the above-mentioned C-type core 4, and gaps 9a and 9b formed of those cores are formed correctly on the extension of recording and reproducing gap 9. Next, matching surface A between C-type cores 4a, 4 and 4b, and core block 5 is observed through a microscope to measure the total length of gaps 9a, 9 and 9b and a deviation distance from the reference line (not shown in the Fig.) and this distance is set below a fixed value to reducing remarkably the angular error of gaps. |
