Torque detector device

A description is given of a device for determining the torque transmitted between two rotating elements. An input element and an output element are connected via a transmission device which permits a relative angular misalignment between the elements. Attached to one of the two rotating elements is a wheel disc which has a number of signal components arranged on a circle. A detector for detecting the signal components is arranged on a frame opposite the wheel disc. A sealing washer with a sealing part for partially covering the signal components is attached to the other rotating element in a position opposite to the wheel disc. The number of signal components detected by the detector is altered in accordance with the relative angular deflection between the input element and the output element while these are in rotation; the torque between the two rotating elements can be determined numerically by means of the number detected. <IMAGE>
