PURPOSE:To reduce the fluctuation in the temperature of working gas, by providing a circulation passage extending from a gas passage between a cooler and a regenerator to a compression cylinder and by providing another circulation passage extending from a gas passage between a heater and the regenerator to an expansion cylinder and by installing working gas transfer means. CONSTITUTION:A circulation passage 10 is provided so that it extends from a gas passage 8 between a cooler 6 and a regenerator 7 to a compression cylinder 5. Another circulation passage 13 is provided so that it extends from a gas passage 9 between the regenerator 7 and a heater 3 to an expansion cylinder 2. Working gas transfer means 11, 14 and changeover valves 12, 15 are installed in the circulation passages 10, 13. Some of working gas in the compression cylinder 5 and the expansion cylinder 2 in a cycle is circulated through the passages 10, 13 and the temperature of the circulated gas is kept equal to that of the walls of the cooler 6 and the heater 3. According to this constitution, the fluctuation in the temperature of the working gas is reduced and the thermal efficiency and output are heightened. |
