PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an indwelling needle assembly which enables easy and accurate accomplishment of the operations in pulling off an inner needle from an outer needle, housing the tip of the inner needle into a protector and taking off the protector the outer needle hub. SOLUTION: The indwelling needle assembly 1 is provided with an outer needle 4 with a hub made up of an outer needle 2 as an indwelling needle and an outer needle hub 3, an inner needle 7 with a hub made up of an inner needle 7 used being inserted into the outer needle 2 and an inner needle hub 6, a protector 8 covering the tip 51 of the inner needle 5, a shutter member 85 set on the protector 8 and an engaging means for checking the separation of the protector 8 from the needle tip 51. The joint force between the protector 89 and the outer needle hub 3 is so set as to be larger than the friction force between the protector 8 and the inner needle 5 when the inner needle 5 is pulled off the outer needle 2. When the protector 8 engages the inner needle 5, the engaging force between the protector 8 and the inner needle 5 is preferably set to be larger as compared with the joint force between the protector 8 and the outer needle hub 3. |
